This is not a dive report, just a couple of pictures from two places I like a lot. One of them is popular for scuba diving training, I haven’t seen a diver in the the other one. I am talking about Matheson Bay and Mahurangi Harbour.
As the title is suggesting, Mahurangi Harbour saved my (diving) day last Thursday. We had a strong southwest wind, but I was going to dive the east coast so expected acceptable conditions. The whole coast was quite wild, especially for macro photography. Even at Ti Point water was dirty and surface very choppy. On my […]
Beginning of August seem to be a great time to visit Tawharanui Peninsula. Even though it’s not a summer season, it’s a great place for coastal walks and also a lambing season. With a bit of luck one can see newly born lambs, or even a sheep giving birth. Začiatok augusta je výborným obdobím k […]

This was fun. I went for a winter shallow dive to one spot where nudibranches are often plentiful. I could not find a spot to par my car so decided to go home along the east coast of North Shore City. I stopped in Murrays Bay where I saw a snorkeler looking for something in […]
30/5/2017 (620) I went for my usual shallow dive in the harbour. I was curious how the pests (the fan worm and the club tunicate) were spreading. I also wanted to finish my half-full tank. I didn’t have enough air for a regular dive, but could spend almost a hour on it examining the shallow […]

22/3/2017 (617) Perhaps I should not tell anybody about this dive. I tried a spot in the urban area of Milford. The beach is lovely there, but the visibility is usually close to nothing, the bottom is quite flat, silty and it’s shallow. The weather was great, it was calm and right before the high […]
