06/09/2016 (598) A dive in a very shallow water, I should rather call it scuba-assisted snorkeling. The maximum depth was only about 3.5 m. Such a depth is very comfortable, there is no need to watch the bottom time, but the surface swell is often an issue, especially for photography or filming. I took a macro […]
30/8/2016 More images from my last dive in Otarawao (Sullivans) Bay in Mahurangi Harbour. The incoming tide was running, the visibility was very poor. Anyway, enjoy the images … I’ve made most of them to document the (new) presence of mediterranean fanworm Sabella spallanzanii in the bay.

My friend Konstantin had an important visitor last April. His brother Aleksandr came from Russia. As both of them are scuba divers, they did not want to miss the opportunity to dive together. New Zealand is famous for its landscapes and outdoor activities, but not so for its underwater environment (we need to change that), yet […]
Yesterday I went for a dive to the Leigh area. I was aware of the strong wind from the southeast so was very skeptical about the conditions. Anyway, I hoped the Ti Point wharf spot could save my trip. Unfortunately that was not the case. I have no idea what was happening there recently. The parking […]
